Thomas J. Froehlich (*1941) je v současné době profesorem na Státní univerzitě v Kentu a vyučuje na Škole knihovnictví a informační vědy. Dále je od roku 2000 vedoucím magisterského studijního programu Informační architektura a znalostní management.

Život

Thomas J. Froehlich je profesorem na Škole knihovnictví a informační vědy na Kentské státní univerzitě v Ohiu. Má doktorát z filozofie z Duquesne University a magisterský titul z informační vědy získaný na univerzitě v Pittsburghu. Vyučuje oblast informatiky, vyhledávání informací, sítě a softwarové prostředky pro informační profesionály, design uživatelského rozhraní, online vyhledávací služby a etické úvahy knihovnických a informačních profesionálů. Přesto, že se mimo jiné zajímá o základy informační vědy a informační sběry dat, tak jeho hlavním předmětem výzkumu byly etické otázky informačních profesí. V současné době je ředitelem Ústavu pro informační vyhledávání a management, vývojář programu a akademický koordinátor pro nový transdisciplinární titul pro Kentskou státní univerzitu v Ohiu, magistr vědy v oblasti informační architektury a řízení znalostí. Hodně cestuje a své semináře a prezentace pořádal v Rakousku, Brazílii, Kanadě, Číně, Francii, Německu, Itálii, Mexiku, Nizozemsku, Portugalsku, Španělsku, Thajsku, Velké Británii a dalších zemích.
