Tries: Martin 2 Goals: Hardaker

Wakefield Trinity battled to a hard-fought Super League win over injury-hit Hull FC.

The groups entered level at the break with Lewis Martin's double for the away side matched by ratings by Will Tate and Oliver Pratt.

Tate's 2nd put the hosts in front for the very first time after team-mate Jack Sinfield had actually seen a shot eliminated for obstruction.

The Black and Whites did not threaten the Trinity try-line thereafter and have now lost their last 3 Super League games this season, having won the opener against Bradford Bulls.

Wakefield made it two wins and 2 defeats for the campaign.

Tate shines as Hull's struggles continue

Hull FC had full-back Will Pryce ruled out for the season last week, Liam Knight returned to Australia at the weekend after being permitted to leave on compassionate premises and it has actually been reported that back-rower Jed Cartwright could now be out for five months with a hamstring injury.

In an even begin Martin got the visitors on the scoreboard with a shot on the left edge before Tate crossed for his very first.

Ill-discipline from Trinity skipper Mike McMeeken gave Hull FC good field position and Martin dotted down in comparable style for his 2nd shot.

It appeared like that would suffice for the away side to lead at the break however Davy Litten stopped working to handle a high kick on the last play of the half and Pratt nabbed the loose ball up to send out the groups in level.

Sinfield had a first rating for his new side ruled out for a blockage however Tate quickly crossed for what proved to be the winning rating after fast hands from Corey Hall put him over in the corner.

There was still over 20 minutes to play however Hull barely even crossed the midway line not to mention put on the home try-line.

Wakefield face Leeds Rhinos in the Challenge Cup next Friday, while Hull FC also face a Super League opponent when they travel to Leigh a week on Saturday.
