Nicholas J. Belkin (*1942) je americký informační vědec. Oblastí jeho působnosti na poli vědy jsou digitální knihovny, interakce mezi člověkem a systémy na vyhledávání informací. V současné době působí jako profesor na Rudgers University, USA. Vyučuje na School of Communication, Information and Library Studies.


Život

Vzdělání

Své vysokoškolské studium započal na University of Washington (Seattle), kde získal v roce 1968 titul BA v oboru Ruský jazyk a literatura a v roce 1970 titul MLS v oboru Knihovnictví. Následně se věnoval Informačním studiím na University College, University of London, kde v roce 1977 obhájil titul Ph.D.

V současné době je N.B. členem redakční rady časopisů Information Retrieval, kde působí od roku 1996, a Information Processing and Management, kde působí od roku 1998. V minulosti působil i několika dalších redašních radách. V letech 1990-1994 byl členem redakční rady časopisu The Library Quarterly.
