Zabýval se zde především komunikací, statistikou a prezentací technických informací. V roce 1966 přešel na katedru knihovnictví, archivnictví a informačních studií, kde působil jako profesor v oblasti informačních studií. Roku 1977 odešel z University College v Londýně a od té doby měl krátké akademické schůzky na různých univerzitách, například v roce 1979 na Univerzitě Knihovnictví a Informační vědy v západním Ontariu (University of Western Ontario School of Library and Information Science). Bertram C. Brookes (7. únor 1910 - 10. červen 1991, Londýn) byl vysokoškolský profesor a vědec v oblasti informační vědy. Patří mezi nejvíce citované autory v informační vědě a jeho práce jsou známy v mnoha zemích po celém světě.
Profesní život
Po skončení 2. světové války začal v roce 1947 vyučovat na katedře elektrotechniky na University College v Londýně. Zabýval se zde především komunikací, statistikou a prezentací technických informací. V roce 1966 přešel na katedru knihovnictví, archivnictví a informačních studií, kde působil jako profesor v oblasti informačních studií. Roku 1977 odešel z University College v Londýně a od té doby měl krátké akademické schůzky na různých univerzitách, například v roce 1979 na Univerzitě Knihovnictví a Informační vědy v západním Ontariu (University of Western Ontario School of Library and Information Science). Svá tvrzení zdůvodňoval tím, že pro tento obor nejsou známy žádné teoretické základy. Toto však odstartovalo jeho výzkum v oblasti informační vědy a již v roce 1972 založil kurzy informační vědy. V roce 1975 pak na University College v Londýně zorganizoval první mezinárodní výzkum v oblasti informační vědy (IRFIS - International Research Forum in Information Science)[2]
