Richard De Gennaro (*1926, New Haven), někdy uváděný jako Richard DeGennaro, je americký rodák, který však za dobu svých studií procestoval velkou část Evropy. Studoval na mnoha školách a než se začal angažovat v knihovnictví a informační vědě, zabýval se například i výukou cizích jazyků. Později se vrátil do své rodné země, kde pracoval nejprve ve veřejné knihovně a později v několika univerzitních knihovnách. Věnuje se psaní odborných knih a zejména v minulosti byl průkopníkem, co se používání počítačů v knihovnách týče.
