Ronald E. Day je knihovník a profesor na Indianské Univerzitě v Bloomingtnu v odvětví Informační věda a knihovnictví a , ředitelem programu MLS a předsedou odboru informačních a knihovnických věd. Ronald E. Day je významný akademik na poli knihovnictví a informační vědy, který přispěl první významnou prací o francouzské knihovnici a informační vědkyni 20. století [http://wiki.knihovna.cz/index.php/Suzanne_Briet Suzanne Brietové], známé jako "Madame Documentation", a publikoval více než čtyřicet prací na rozhraní kritické Teorie a knihovnictví. Day je jedním z mála moderních kritických teoretiků v oblasti knihovnictví a informačních věd, který zakládá většinu své práce v disciplíně rétoriky.

Ronald E. Day získal v roce 1987 magisterské studium filozofie a Ph.D. V srovnávací literatuře v roce 1990 z Binghamton University. V roce 1993 získal magisterský titul v oboru knihovnictví a informační vědy (MLIS) z Kalifornské univerzity v Berkeley.

Od roku 2005 působil jako učitel a výzkumný pracovník na Indianské univerzitě. Před příchodem do IU získal titul Ph.D. ve srovnávací literatuře na státní univerzitě v New Yorku v Binghamtonu a titul M.L.I.S. na Kalifornské univerzitě v Berkeley. Na ILS vyučoval Z501 Reference, Z521 Humanities Information, Z640 Seminář v oblasti intelektuální svobody a další kurzy. Je ředitelem programu Master of Science v oboru knihovnictví.

Jeho psaní si získalo respekt ve svém oboru. Získal ocenění Nejlepší informační vědecká kniha, udělené na výroční schůzi Americké společnosti pro vědu a techniku informací (ASIS & T) v listopadu roku 2015 za jeho knihu: Indexing it All: The Subject in the Age of Documentation, Information, and Data through MIT Press.

*Indexing It All: The Subjects in the Age of Documentation, Information, and Data (2014)

V této knize Ronald E. Day představuje kritickou historii moderní dokumentace. Soustředí se hlavně na dokumentární index a vychází z práce francouzské dokumentaristky Suzanne Briet. Day zkoumá pochopení a použití indexů. Indexy vycházejí z explicitních profesních struktur, které zprostředkovaly uživatele a dokumenty jako implicitní infrastrukturní zařízení používaná v každodenních informačních a komunikačních činnostech. K tomu dochází ve třech epistemologických obdobích v zastoupení jednotlivců a skupin. Nejprve ve formě dokumentů, pak informací a nakonec údajů.
Ronald E. Day zkoumá pět případů moderní dokumentace. Např.: posun od dokumentace k informační vědě a doprovodnou transformaci osob a textů na uživatele a informace. Využití sociálních médií algoritmů, další podřízení osob a textů. Pokusy o vybudování androidů tak, aby ztělesňovaly lidskou agenturu v informačním systému.
Day považuje stav kritiky a úsudku v době, kdy lidé a jejich úsudky jsou stále více zprostředkovávány, přemisťovány a nahrazovány moderními dokumentárními postupy.

Ronald E. Day je knihovník a profesor na Indianské Univerzitě v Bloomingtnu v odvětví Informační věda a knihovnictví a , ředitelem programu MLS a předsedou odboru informačních a knihovnických věd. Specializuje se na výzkum kultury a historie informací, dokumentování, vědění, a komunikace ve 20. a 21. století. Ronald E. Day je významný akademik na poli knihovnictví a informační vědy, který přispěl první významnou prací o francouzské knihovnici a informační vědkyni 20. století Suzanne Brietové, známé jako "Madame Documentation", a publikoval více než čtyřicet prací na rozhraní kritické Teorie a knihovnictví. Day je jedním z mála moderních kritických teoretiků v oblasti knihovnictví a informačních věd, který zakládá většinu své práce v disciplíně rétoriky.

Ronald E. Day získal v roce 1987 magisterské studium filozofie a Ph.D. V srovnávací literatuře v roce 1990 z Binghamton University. V roce 1993 získal magisterský titul v oboru knihovnictví a informační vědy (MLIS) z Kalifornské univerzity v Berkeley.

Od roku 2005 působil jako učitel a výzkumný pracovník na Indianské univerzitě. Před příchodem do IU získal titul Ph.D. ve srovnávací literatuře na státní univerzitě v New Yorku v Binghamtonu a titul M.L.I.S. na Kalifornské univerzitě v Berkeley. Na ILS vyučoval Z501 Reference, Z521 Humanities Information, Z640 Seminář v oblasti intelektuální svobody a další kurzy. Je ředitelem programu Master of Science v oboru knihovnictví.

Jeho psaní si získalo respekt ve svém oboru. Získal ocenění Nejlepší informační vědecká kniha, udělené na výroční schůzi Americké společnosti pro vědu a techniku informací (ASIS & T) v listopadu roku 2015 za jeho knihu: Indexing it All: The Subject in the Age of Documentation, Information, and Data through MIT Press.
